荣誉学者
To graduate with a LPL外围网址 academic 荣誉学者 designation, 学生s must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the time of graduation and “A” or “B” in all 荣誉项目 courses.
The 荣誉项目 seeks to cultivate a community of academically motivated 学生s who want to pursue challenging educational experiences.
学生 meeting the criteria described below can enroll in Honors coursework. To graduate with an academic 荣誉学者 designation 学生s must complete at least 11-12 credit hours of Honors coursework with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the time of graduation and “A” or “B” in all 荣誉项目 courses.
Criteria for the 荣誉项目:
Submit an application packet to the Honors Coordinator. The packet must contain at least three of the following five criteria:
- Letter of recommendation from current or previous instructor
- 平均绩点3.5 or higher for incoming Freshmen or transfer 学生s
- ACT composite of 26 or higher
- Essay written in a controlled setting
- Interview with the 荣誉项目 Committee
Applications with the required criteria are due the Monday before the Fall and Spring semester begins and will be reviewed for acceptance by the Honors committee. Applications can be submitted to the Student Success lobby on the second floor.
学生 will receive Honors credit if:
- An Honors Contract is submitted to the Honors Coordinator by the end of the fourth week of the semester,
- Additional agreed upon coursework* and meeting times are completed, and
- A final grade of B or higher is earned
*Additional coursework is agreed upon between the Honors faculty member, 学生, and Honors Coordinator and includes one or more of the following:
- Extra or extended assignments
- 荣誉学期论文
- Extra readings and assignments
- 演讲
- 实验室研究
- 其他
优秀学生名单
学生 who have earned a semester grade point average of 4.00 in at least 9 credit hours are recognized for their achievement. The 优秀学生名单 is published at the end of each semester.
优秀学生名单
学生 who have earned a semester grade point average between 3.50-3.99 in at least 9 credit hours are recognized for their accomplishment. The 优秀学生名单 is published at the end of each semester.
Phi Theta Kappa
Phi Theta Kappa recognizes and encourages scholarship among two-year college 学生s. 为了达到这个目的, Phi Theta Kappa provides opportunity for the development of leadership and service, for an intellectual climate for exchange of ideas and ideals, for lively fellowship for scholars and for stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence. 学生 with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher after earning 12 credit hours at Donnelly are eligible for initiation into Phi Theta Kappa. This international honor society for community colleges combines academic excellence with community service. Members of Phi Theta Kappa are eligible to enroll in the Honors Seminar offered each spring semester.

EN 193: Spanish Studies: Honors Seminar (1 credit)
This course is a seminar for members of the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society. 学生 will study topics that involve an interdisciplinary approach, 是当前感兴趣的, 并且以问题为导向. The special topics are selected annually by the 荣誉项目 Committee.

In conjunction with Donnelly’s literary arts journal, Dime (pronounced “DEE-may”), the Sister Mary Faith Schuster Award is given each semester to two 学生s submitting the winning creative writing entries.

Qualifying graduating baccalaureate 学生s are awarded 拉丁荣誉 based on the following cumulative grade point averages:
优等生:3名.25-3.499
优等生:3.5-3.749
优等生:3.75-4.0
